Yes. If vertigo therapy takes place as part of a medically prescribed physiotherapy or occupational therapy, the costs are covered by Swiss basic health insurance (KVG). Please ensure that the treating practice has a corresponding ZSR number. Insured persons also bear the agreed deductible and the statutory co-pay. In case of doubt, check with the practice or your health insurance fund before starting treatment.

For billing through health insurance (basic insurance), a medical prescription for physiotherapy or occupational therapy is strictly required. Without a prescription, you can also inquire directly at many practices about examination, consultation, or self-pay services. These services generally have to be paid for privately and are not covered by basic insurance. Therefore, clarify with the respective practice in advance which services are offered without a prescription.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a detailed confirmation of participation with designated teaching units (TU). For Swiss physiotherapists and occupational therapists, this serves as official proof of quality for their personal continuing education portfolio and can be submitted to professional associations (e.g., Physioswiss).

The IVRT® offers a modern blended learning concept. Certain theoretical foundations and preparatory modules are completed flexibly online. However, the intensive practical examination and treatment techniques are trained in-person on site in Switzerland (twice for two days from 09:00 to 17:00) to guarantee the highest quality of treatment.

In addition to our in-person foundation courses, we offer specialized advanced courses:

In person: Advanced courses on topics such as BPPV, PPPD, concussion, oculomotor disorders, and central vestibular disorders.

Online only (after completing the basic course): Advanced modules covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, balance, spontaneous nystagmus, oculomotor function, and BPPV.
